GAS Nation is a nightclub based in Beijing. At the beginning of 2025, they decided to open a branch at Wanfu Rd, Shanghai, embracing a broader international context for rave culture. Shanghai’s audience being more open to cutting-edge design allows me to explore a wider range of design techniques than in Beijing.
Build an underground community that Gen Z loves.
I collaborated with others on the variable font creativity. Setting 1px as the smallest unit allowed us to create 8 masters to accommodate various situations in the application. We were able to integrate the glitching effect to make it more eye-catching.
The shape of the components was inspired by the sound waves during the performance, which are also applicable to other collateral.
